Renn Fest has Returned!
Reporting live from Larkspur once again…
The beloved festival offers a trip back in time to when kings and queens ruled the land, with opportunities for feasting, revelry and sights that will leave you wondering. The festival runs for eight weekends, from June 14 through Aug. 3, in Larkspur.
How to get tickets
The Colorado Renaissance Festival has three ways to purchase tickets for the festival.
The lowest price is offered through King Soopers. The grocery chain partners with the festival each year, offering single-day tickets. This year, the tickets can be purchased at participating locations for $29 for adults and $14 for children ages five to 12. Anyone younger than five can enter the fest for free.
Single-day tickets can also be purchased through the festival’s website. Each of those tickets will cost adults $30.50 and $14 for children.
Video Game Go-Karts
What maybe the ONLY video game style go-karts in the country — Estes Park Ride-A-Kart has opened to the public.
This is like real life Mario Kart folks.. Kelly & Andrew Kessler in their own words.
“Just like your favorite video game you grew up playing as a kid, it has the same features of that. There’s coins, there’s question marks, there’s spots on the track that interact with your cart and with the other drivers,” Andrew said.
Racers will be able to earn speed boosts by collecting coins and can even slow other racers down by (virtually) throwing things at them. Andrew explained that this is made possible with sensors installed in the track, which racers can find on a map, as well as buttons to use power-ups on the steering wheel.
Once everyone crosses the finish line, the scores will be calculated and the winners will be invited to the podium. There is also a scoreboard where racers can see and compare their results.
How to get a discount for the debut on Friday
Estes Park Ride-A-Kart will debut the new go-karts to the public on Friday, June 13, at 4 p.m. Racers who show up dressed as their favorite racing-inspired character, whether from a video game or a real-life driver, can get a 50% discount on their tickets.

PET OF THE WEEK
Save A Life @ Colorado Puppy Rescue
Meet Triscuit — I'm the perfect companion dog -- I love being around my humans and am sweet and cuddly with everyone.
I'm super good on walks already and like to stay close to my human. I love to frolick in grass too! I'm curious around other dogs and a little shy around some people at first. I was fostered with a 9-year-old large dog and I love to mess with her.
I'll be easy to potty train because I'm a smarty-pants and I listen well. I'm pretty vocal in the crate, but after 15 minutes I settle down.
And with my puppy dog eyes, and floppy and expressive ears, I'm just as cute as can be. My foster parents are super sad about me leaving, but I'm ready for my forever home. Are you my forever humans?

Cale Makar Wins 2nd Norris Trophy

Source: NHL
Cale Makar has won his 2nd Norris Trophy for being the BEST Defensemen in the NHL. Since joining the Avs he’s absolutely dominated the ice no matter where he skates.
Makar finished the regular season with 30 goals and 92 points, a career high in both categories. He’s also the first defenseman to finish in the top 10 of the NHL’s point leaders since Brent Burns with the San Jose Sharks in 2016-17. Burns had 29 goals and 76 points in that campaign.
The Colorado blueliner finished second on the team in points and goals behind Nathan MacKinnon’s 116 points and 32 tallies in the regular season.
A second Norris Trophy adds to what is already an impressive career with all the silverware Makar has brought home over the years. In addition to being the defenseman of the year twice, he also has a Calder Trophy, a Conn Smythe and a Stanley Cup. He has earned all these honors before turning 27 years old.
